Biographical note

This Act was passed after calls from the Parish Councils of the three Southern Counties of Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbright and Wigtownshire, for a more representative governing Board at Crichton Royal Institution and a public audit of accounts. The Act dissolved the Trustees and Directors and incorporated the Directors of Crichton Royal Institution, altering the composition of the Board of Direction and the practice of electing Directors; and defining the powers and duties of the Board.
