Description

This programme is made to celebrate the life and work of John Bowlby whose theory of attachment has been so influential to psychoanalysis; archive footage of Bowlby is included. It is filmed in London and New York and includes sections on Bowlby's early life and influences, the elements of attachment theory, psychotherapy from an attachment perspective and how attachment affects the entire life cycle. Included is footage from an on-going longitudinal study documenting the secure attachment history of a boy at one year, six years and twenty years. Footage is also included of therapy sessions with adults who have had troubled attachment histories.
