Notes

Gay Hickey is from Edinburgh. She would not have applied earlier in her life - she would not have had the confidence. She is going to release balloons with small facts about her life attached to them. She feels that a certain time in life you become invisible which makes many situations easier but underneath the person knows who they are. Her family and her work for a charity that supports families in Scotland are important to her. Her grandchildren are going to give out badges saying that the lady on the plinth is their granny. She thinks that everyone has something to offer. She has three children, seven grandchildren and is now happily married for the second time.
