About this work

Description

Two copies (one an "Advance Proof") of "Infringement of Trade Marks in Italy," a pamphlet produced by Burroughs Wellcome & Co, publishing the summing up and judgement of both the case and the subsequent appeal (judgement found in favour of Burroughs Wellcome & Co, the Plaintiffs). Also, a circular letter (dated 27 October, 1902), and a list of publications in which the case was reported (1902-1903).

Introductory statement from the pamphlet: "An important case, involving much time and expense, which we have been contesting in the Courts in Italy since September, 1900, was decided in our favour by the Civil and Penal Tribunal, in June, 1901. A Perpetual Injunction was granted, and damages and costs were awarded to us. The defendants appealed against the sentence. It is satisfactory to announce that the Royal Appeal Court at Milan has now confirmed this sentence. The legal points set forth in the summing-up are of such great commercial importance that we give a translation of the report below."
