About this work

Description

Notebook containing bibliographical notes (notes on collations, sale prices, scarcity of copies, identification of anonymous and pseudonymous works etc.), arranged alphabetically, and written in a number of hands. Bound in at f. 46 is a key to the characters in Dibdin's Bibliomania, written on the verso of an address panel of a letter to 'Mr Sotheby, Wellington Street, Waterloo Bridge' [Samuel Sotheby (1771-1842), auctioneer]. The volume may therefore have been compiled or used at Sotheby's sale rooms.
