Notes

Usamah Khalid is from Birmingham. He is not particularly interested in art but saw how unique the project was. He is from Small Heath and went to an inner-city school where many people didn't have a lot of opportunities which is part of why he applied to take part to show that anyone can do it. He initially missed his place because he hadn't checked his email. He doesn't know what he will do. He is doing the project partly for himself and to allow people who are not recognised to be recognised. Being a British citizen is very important for him, he has had some difficulties with the name Usamah, but finds Britain very accepting and diverse. His studies are most important to him, knowledge is the thing least likely to be lost. He is studying civil engineering at the University of Birmingham. He is taking a camera. He describes himself as ready for new challenges. He doesn't know anyone else who has applied for the project. He has been on the Politics Show on television, he thinks Britain is excellent at allowing people to have their opinion.
