About this work

Description

Written in a small neat hand, and possibly a copy prepared for publication. Foliation, headings, and small vignettes above the main chapter headings, also small drawings of medical instruments-in red. This MS. is a Physician's note-book of diseases and remedies: in several places, the first person is used as regards a treatment and its result. On the fly-leaf at the end, in an 18th cent. hand 'Scritto nell'anno 1563', which may have been taken from a title-page, now lost. Ff. 53-78 deal with the 'Morbus Gallicus' and other venereal diseases, in which the use of Guaiacum and Sarsaparilla is recommended.
