The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Six inset portraits of the German quick-change artist Gustav Luzernow (dates unknown), including one of him not in drag and five as female characters. This kind of quick-change, multi-faceted, frequently musical, variety drag act seems to have been popular in continental Europe...but was practically unknown in the United Kingdom."
