Description
Six inset portraits of the German quick-change artist Gustav Luzernow (dates unknown), including one of him not in drag and five as female characters. This kind of quick-change, multi-faceted, frequently musical, variety drag act seems to have been popular in continental Europe (see Wellcome Library nos.2044505i and 20445121i), but was practically unknown in the United Kingdom (James Gardiner)
