Description

1. Two letters addressed to the physician Francis Boldero Manley Sims (1841-1902) , one 9 December 1891 relating to Raynaud and Charcot, and another 21 December 1891 relating to Raynaud and endarteritis.

2. Letter adressed to Dear Madam, 16 July 1902 relating to data about him in Churchill's Medical Directory, Robertson Nicoll and newspaper biographies of medical men.

3. Letter addressed to Sir Philip Magnus (1842-1933), refers to a bill prohibiting vivisection on dogs, and Dr. Addison, 12 June 1913. Includes a published list of members supporting the Bill.

4. Letter addressed to Professor Bell, n.d., regarding seeing someone named Sherrington at Oxford.

5. Two letters to Dr Fairbank regarding somebody named Gillam in conjunction with the selection committee, and the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, n.d.

6. Threee letters between Barlow and C. J. S. Thompson, Wellcome Trust, concerning the reproduction of Barlow's portrait in a book to commemorate the inauguration of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum, September 1925.

Biographical note

Sir Thomas Barlow (1845-1945) was Physician to Queen Victoria and King Edward VII and King George V. He was knighted in 1902, and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1909. He is also known for his work on infantile scurvy.
