Description

The first item on the tape is a 14 minute black and white film made by James Mennell for the Chartered Society of Massage and Medical Gymnastics (CSMMG) now The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. It shows in detail how fingers, arms and shoulders can be manipulated. The film was revised in 1970 by Mennell's sons with assistance from the Photographic Department at Westminster Medical School. There may have originally been an added commmentary by Mr. G.P. Grieve but that is missing from this copy. The second item is a 10 minute programme in colour with sound made by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Margaret Hollis, Principal of the Bradford Hospitals School of Physiotherapy shows various ways of moving and lifting disabled people, with the aid of Dianne Miller, Jennifer Russell, and Barbara Sharp.
