Description

This is a lupus vulgaris skin lesion on the medial surface of the left knee, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The differential diagnosis includes leprosy. In the latter condition, however, the peripheral nerves would be thickened. In tuberculosis there may be an associated pulmonary lesion.
