Description

SEM of upper surface of Guinea pig organ of Corti showing hair bundles from 3 rows of outer sensory hair cells (V-shaped) and single row of inner hair cells (linear). Sound waves vibrate hair bundles of sensory cells in radial direction, toward and away from centre of cochlea spiral, causing changes in electrical activity of hair cells. Mag. X 3500.
