Description

Woodblock illustration from Waike xinfa zhenyan zhinan (Guide to Tried and True Methods at the Heart of External Medicine), published in 1887 (13th year of the Guangxu reign period of the Qing dynasty).It shows the exact location of the dantian (Cinnabar Field), feishu (Lung Conveyor), weilü (Coccyx) and jiaji (Flanking the Spine) points. The dantian point is located 1 cun (Chinese/proportionate inch), 7 fen (tenths of a Chinese/proportionate inch) below the navel. The feishu points are located on the back, below the spinous process of the third thoracic vertebra and 1 cun 5 fen to the side. The weilü (Coccyx) point is located at the base of the spine,in the hollow of the 7th section, counting upwards. The jiaji points are located in the depressions on either side of the weilü point.

Lettering

Dantian (Cinnabar Field) point, 1 cun (Chinese/proportionate inch), 7 fen (tenths of a Chinese/proportionate inch) directly below the navel. Feishu (Lung Conveyor) poin, below the third segment of the 6th vertebra, 1 cun 5 fen to the side. Weilü (Coccyx) point, at the base of the spine, in the hollow located 7 segments above. Jiaji (Flanking the Spine) point,in the soft depression to either side.
