About this work

Description

Collection of a few miscellaneous, household, cookery, and medical receipts in English by several hands. In a commonplace book containing various verses and literary extracts, some religions, and anonymous 'Outlines towards a Reply to the Chapter on Elections in Mr. A. Booth's "Regin of Grace"' dated 1812. A large portion of the MS. is devoted to the 'Outlines towards a Reply', which begins on fol. 9v. It is headed: 'As my good Son James has been kind enough to fill the white paper in this volume, 1 begin to-day, i.e. Dec. 17. 1812 with some Outlines towards a Reply. ...' The 'Reign of Grace' by Abraham Booth [1734-1806] was first published in 1768. The date 1810 is found on the recto of first leaf, and 1818 on the verso.
