In 1905, the New York state medical association was merged with the Medical society of the state of New York; the New York state journal of medicine was at the same time acquired by the latter society and its transactions are continued in that publication

Lists of members in each volume; some of these are merely partial lists, members in attendance at the anual meetings, etc.

The society published its transactions for 1807-31 (24 issues) in small annual pamphlets (the first bearing date 1808 on t.-p., pub. 1809) these were reprinted in 1868 in one volume. The transactions for 1832-49 were issued in parts, comprising 7 v. (these volumes, numbered v. 1-7, are the only ones in the series that bear volume numbers), the years 1840-43 were reprinted in 1868 in one volume; from 1850-72 (23 v.), issued under the patronage of the state, as Assembly or Senate documents; from 1873-1905 (33 v.) published at the expense of the society
