Auch zuuertreiben allerley kranckheiten der menschen, und dargegen zuerhalten derselben gesundheit ... The MS. is in the form of a note-book of the 'Liber amicorum' type, and each leaf has an ornamental border of which there are eight varieties. Of these one is dated 1572, another bears the initials 'E.B.V.S.', and another 'MS.' After the main text is a section headed 'Ignem perpetuum oder ein ewiges Liecht zu machen' and a final section 'Lapis philosophorum seu via universalis a Johanne de Sole'. In both of these the substances used are written in a numerical cypher.

Physical description

1 volume 60 ll. (first 2 & last 14 bl.). 8vo. 141/2 x 10 cm. Original stamped vellum binding: the upper cover stamped C.B. 1588, and small stamp of the Crucifixion in-between: the latter only, in two impressions, one sideways, on the lower cover. Remains of two green silk ties.
