Material relating to a paper by Rosen, 'Deprivation and the Quest for Togetherness' which was presented at a Scientific Meeting of the B Group of the British Psychoanalytical Society, 8 March 1983, and at the BPS Pre-Congress Meeting, London, 17-20 July 1983. Chiefly comprising several computer print-out drafts of the paper, transcribed notes of the sessions with the patient from 1977 onwards, Rosen's correspondence with the BPS. Rosen explains in a covering letter that the paper covers some the transference themes in a 12-year analysis of a female patient of his who was acutely traumatised repeatedly in early childhood, successively losing parental figures and then her whole family situation; subsequent placing in an orphanage; later subjected to living with her real mother who controlled and completely rejected her emotionally.
