A student's notes of lectures: on p. 1 the lecturer refers to the beginning of a new 'Cursus'. At the end he speaks of beginning a new 'Cursus' 'nach den Ferien'. It is possible that the lecturer may have been Jacob Reinbold Spielmann (1722-1783), professor of chemistry, botany and medicine at Strassburg University in 1759, who is known to have written a short tract on the history of soap-making, and these notes may have been taken at his lectures on materia medica.
