    ?V/M' The following Observations on Contagion were originally drawn up an answer to his strictures on my proposed classification of contagious diseases: the substance of that communication to Dr. Chisholm has, in every respect, been preserved entire, though, for obvious reasons, in the paper as now printed the epistolary form is laid aside.
