Lettering
Catherine Warman, daughter of John Ross of the north of Scotland, was born May 1648 in the city of Berlin, in the reign of King Charles I . ...
Lettering continues: "Captain Kettle of town Malden in Kent, who went with the King into Germany, was her godfather; who being inform'd of the Restoration, ordered her feet to be washed in claret. Her first husband was James Walker of Glascow, and Hugh Warman, a soldier under the Duke of Monmouth was her last. She dyed on the 15. February 1755, aged 107 years, and retained her hearing and memory to the last. She used frequently to divert herself & those about her by recounting several incidents which happened in the time of the memorable Civil War. She received alms from the parish of St. Martin's in the Fields from the year 1680 to her death. Her corpse was attended by 15 old women all out of one house, whose ages together amounted to 1211 years, the youngest of which was 75 years of age."
