Description

The fourth in a six-part series following the work of 'bionic vet' Noel Fitzpatrick. At his multi-million pound centre in Surrey, Noel is devising and using new surgical techniques to save and imporve the lives of thousands of pets from all over the country. He invents various kinds of prostheses to help animals with physically disabling conditions. In this part, puppy, Ice, is only six months old but has been trampled by a horse. The bones in his tiny leg have been shattered in more than twenty places. Noel tries to reconstruct the leg as well as battle an infection caused by the horse's hoof. Gatwick sniffer dog, Neo has a serious knee problem in one of his back legs and requires surgery if he is to continue working with his handler, PC Murray. We also hear from Lottoe, the cat whose pelvis was shattered in a road accident. We watch as she takes her first session in the hydrotherapy pool.
