About this work
Description
A history of childhood illness from the early 1900's up till the present. A moving and personal story, told through the recorded voices of patients, parents and doctors who were involved in the history of childrens illness throughout the 1900's. The stories tell of the constant fears of parents over the threats of childhood illness for which there was no real medical treatment, and how they coped with the effects of so many young deaths. Among the accounts, adults, who were children during the early 1900's, tell of being parted from their loved ones's in isolation hospitals, often without being told why.
