About this work
Description
Certificate bearing the Royal Arms, underneath which is written "Board of Green Cloth". Signed by the Lord Steward (16 February 1911), appointing Sir Richard Powell Cooper, Bart, Director of William Cooper & Nephews, "into the Place and Quality of purveyors of Sheep Dip to His Majesty".
The Certificate was revised in 1913, 1920 and 1940 (with authorised signatures) to accommodate the change of appointee (to Richard Ashmole Cooper), to reflect the change in status of William Cooper & Nephews as a limited company, and to reflect changes of monarch. In 1940, the Certificate was "Cancelled on the grant of a Warrant of Appointment to King George VI".
