Reproduction note

After a painting composed in the opposite direction. The present print documents it as being in the possession of Dr Richard Mead in 1741. In Mead's sale in 1754 it was described as "Claude Lorraine. A morning" (Langford, loc, cit.). The painting passed in 1928 to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, where called "The ford"
