About this work

Description

Watercolour drawing showing the roseola of congenital syphilis upon the legs. Both legs exhibit raised red areas of a ham-coloured eruption, scaly in places. The feet are raw and red. From a child aged six weeks. The clinical history is not known. Drawing presented to the Museum by Wilmot Parker Herringham, physician to St Bartholomew's Hospital.
