Gesualdo Lanza (1779–1859), singing teacher, was born in Naples. In 1813 he published The elements of singing. His other publications include The elements of singing in the Italian and English styles (1809), Sunday evening recreations (1840), and Signor Lanza's new method of teaching class singing (1843). The Minasi family, which intermarried with the Lanza family, is elucidated by Merrick, op. cit. James Anthony Minasi (1776-1865), William Minasi (1825-1869) and Emelia Minasi (1822-1914) are mentioned as artists, but the only H. Minasi is Henry Swinburne Minasi (1783-1859), who became the Consul General for the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, but is not known to have been an artist
