Copy 1. Bound in stamped leather with gilt centrepieces, containing on the upper board the portrait of the Elector Palatine, Otto Heinrich, dated 1557, and on the lower board his coat of arms. With the bookplate of Bateman of Middleton Hall. From the library of George Dunn, with his bookplate. Bought by Henry Wellcome in December 1917 (Accession Number 39 591, purchased at Sotheby's). The Palatine library in Heidelberg was sacked by Imperial troops in 1623 and the books were sent to the Vatican Library. This stray volume is a portion of the Aldine edition of Aristotle's complete works. 17th century ownership inscription of Jesuit College Brussels.
