As Artist in Residence at the Wellcome Trust, much of William's time has been spent researching in the library. He is especially intrigued by the narrow isles between bookshelves in Modern Medicine where some antiquated books on circulation are kept. He has created a branch-like structure to emerge from the gap between books and span the width of the isle. The form simultaneously references a tree branch, an artery and perhaps even an artifcial limb and is intended as an unexpected intervention in the quiet surroundings of the library.
