Description

The 44th report for 1883 includes an Abstract of Income and Expenditure for Southern Counties Asylum. Dr Rutherford's reports also contain some excerpts from the Board of Trustees and Directors annual general meetings. In the 49th report for 1888, a special report on the Spittalfield experiment which began in 1884 and involved allowing some female patients to live independently in cottages in the hospital grouds without the supervision of nursing staff, is included.
