About this work
Description
A painting in Rita Simon's Archaic Transition style, depicting an indistinct scene. The work was painted by a boy of 6 or 7 years who appeared to be happy but the painting reveals otherwise. "His mother was a patient. The child came in with the mother and painted this while the mother was talking to the doctor. It is to do with change, chaos, not being safe and the emotions involved in not being safe. In the top right hand corner, their is a safe place in the attic" This information is taken from conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.
The title has been taken from notes made during conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.
The date has been taken from other works in this section.
