Description
Lepromatous leprosy (LL): skin
This medium power view of a skin section shows a diffuse chronic inflammatory infiltrate in the dermis. It is composed predominantly of macrophages. There is a clear sub-epidermal zone (Grenz zone), but no granulomas can be seen. H&E stain
Many Mycobacterium leprae were present in sections stained for acid-fast bacilli (AFB).
