This DVD recording from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is split into three main sections. The first, introduced by Dr. Bernard Valman, is the original film of Annual meetings of the British Paediatric Association during the 1930s, with a new commentary by Dr. Beryl Corner. The film shows many paediatricians from the 1930s and Dr. Corner gives a brief biography to go with the silent black and white images of the following: Robert Hutchinson, Leonard Parsons, Alan Moncrieff, Morley Fletcher, Norman Capon, F.J. Poynton, A.G. Maitland-Jones, R.W.B. Ellis, Donald Paterson, James Spence, Hector Cameron, Dingwall Fordyce, Stanley Graham, Eric Pritchard, Donald Winnicott, Charles McNeill, Victor Neale. The second item is a conversation between Dr. Valman and Dr. Corner, Emeritus Consultant Paediatrician in Bristol in which she describes the early development of paediatrics in Bristol and the difficulties for women as paediatricians. The third item is an excerpt from a meeting on the history of British Paediatrics held at the Royal Society of Medicine in 2000. The Chairman was John Davis and the speakers included Hugh Everley Jones, Thomas Stapleton, Anthony Jackson, Kenneth Hold, Alex Russell, Archi Norman, and Paul Polani.
