About this work

Description

The Southern Sub-Group was in existence in 1959. The date of formation is not known. It covered Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and was divided into three divisions based on the counties. Each division held its own meetings. It was called the Wessex Sub-Group from 1960. The South Coast Sub-Group was formed in Oct 1959. This developed from informal meetings of MOHs from the West Sussex area. The new Sub-Group covered the area south of the South Downs. The Group was wound up in 1973. The two Sub-Groups were closely linked and often representatives from each group attended the other's meetings.
