Description
Over a considerable period Lady May Mellanby made a series of surveys of the dental health of school children, comparing children in private schools to children in local authority schools and also those in institutions to give a class dimension as well as a time dimension to this comparative study. It is unfortunate that the complete records of all her surveys do not survive, but as she undertook several of them in collaboration, with Helen Courmoulos and with Helen Mellanby among others, this may account for gaps in the records.
