Biographical note

The original Crichton Royal Institution building, known as the First House from 1885 and Crichton Hall from 1908 until the present day, was designed by Scottish architect William Burn in 1834 and was built between 1834 and 1839. All plans for the original Crichton Royal Institution building have been retained by NHS Dumfries and Galloway's Estates and Property Services.
