Lettering

Montagu O'Reilly delt June 1854 Extensively inscribed on the verso: "The great Turkish burial ground or "Grand champ des morts" on the Pera side of the Bosphorus at the back of the Sultan's palace of 'Tchangaha' with the palace of 'Bilier Bey' in the distance on the Bosphorus. Sketched December 1854 by Montagu O'Reilly Lieut. HMS Retribution"
