Disseminated microsporidiosis This is a high power view of a semi-thin preparation of nasal mucosa from an HIV-positive patient with disseminated microsporidiosis. It shows numerous spores of microsporidia parasites within the surface nasal mucosa cells. This patient had microsporidiosis in many organs including the nose, kidney, bile duct and intestine. Toluidine blue stain.
