Reproduction of a photograph of the skeleton of an early tertiary mamal and a drawing of one of the bones, published in Moodie, Roy L: Paleopathology: an introduction to the study of ancient evidences of disease, Urbana, Ill.: University of Illinois press, 1923. The fifth rib on the right has been fractured and has healed with the formation of a callus.
