Biographical note
Project Summary:This project will result in a series of films and audio guides for the Jenner Museum in time for the worldwide celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the eradication of smallpox in 2010. The films will be used on-site on dedicated screens and online. The content will also be re-versioned for primary and secondary educational packs. The films about the life and career of Dr Edward Jenner will be presented by Dr Mark Horton, of BBC's Coast and a Jenner Museum trustee. Dr Horton will also narrate the audio guides. The clips and associated text build a detailed picture of this extraordinary country doctor's life, his major discovery and the controversies that surrounded vaccination, bringing us into the current day with a look at how the vaccination debate continues with the MMR, swine flu and Cervarix vaccinations creating headlines and leading news bulletins around the world.
