File consists of papers and general correspondence related to the seminar on, "Origins of Neonatal Intensive Care in the UK", which was held at the Wellcome Institute on 27 April 1999. The seminar was part of the Wellcome Witnesses to Twentieth Century Medicine meetings also known as the Witness Seminars. The transcript of this seminar was published as Volume 9 of the Witness Seminar series, D.A. Christie and E.M. Tansey (editors), Origins of Neonatal Intensive Care in the UK, (London: Wellcome Trust, 2001).

Handwritten notes and copies of e-mails regarding the organisation of the meeting and notes between the organisers and editors regarding the transcript and accommodating people's comments.

Neale titled, "Hyperbilirubinaemia in Premature Infants and the Effect of Synthetic Vitamin K", The Lancet, pp715-717, April 2 1960; extract from a published symposium titled, "The Care of the Premature Baby in the Bristol Area"; article by R. Aidin, Beryl Corner and Geoffrey Tovey, "Kernicterus and Prematurity", The Lancet, p1153, June 24 1950; and an article about the Neonatal Department at Southmead Hospital produced in Proceedings of the Royal Society of Medicine, June 11 1949.
