Description
Due to family circumstances Stanley Browne left school in 1923 at aged 15. He embarked on a course of extensive evening class education both to consolidate his secondary education and provide the foundations for the medical training he planned to take up. These files cover courses attended at Stillness Road Commercial Evening Institute and Choumert Road Institute, both London County Council Evening Institutes. Browne undertook classes and examinations whilst employed as a clerk in the Town Clerk's Department of Deptford Borough Council between 1923 and 1927.
