About this work

Description

After his ascent of Mont Blanc in 1851, Albert Smith returned in 1853 and on 21 September joined a party of about fifty travellers on the mountain, two of whom (J. Macgregor and Mr Shuldham) reached the summit. The cabin on the Grands Mulets had ben built the previous year to enable travellers to spend the night on the mountain
