Notes

Medwen Pierce is from Anglesey. Her whole family is interested in Gormley's art, she has been following his work for 15 years. She is hoping to take photographs - she revised her original plans a bit because she is on the plinth when it is dark. Photography allows her to pretend she is an artist; she doesn't distribute her photographs. She has photographed the Anglesey coastline a lot and is using the plinth as her own private island. She is taking some pebbles from Anglesey beaches with her. Because she loves Anglesey so much she thinks this may have prevented her broadening her horizons but she is happy being at home. She originally trained as a computer programmer and works for the local water utility. She hopes she will help Gormley achieve what he is expecting. She has enjoyed watching the project online. At the moment her Mum's health is the most important thing to her.
