About this work

Description

Julian Lloyd Webber tells the story of how Patrick Saul, born 1913 in Dover, founded the British Institute of Recorded Sound, now housed at the British Library. Saul was the first person in this country to see the value of a national sound archive. The account of Saul's life is illustrated by friends and colleagues' memories of Saul and his determination in setting up the archive.
