About this work

Description

Undated document headed "The Laboratory of Molecular Biology / Proposals for Extension," presented to the Medical Research Council under the joint authorship of Perutz, Crick, Kendrew and Sanger.

The file contains the text in holograph (Crick's hand), typescript and final mimeograph format.

The reference in the text to the laboratory having "now been in operation for about 11/2 years" (p. 1) suggests that the document was prepared in the latter half of 1963.

Appendix II presents the position of Dr Leslie Orgel as a "special" case "to be considered apart from the development of the laboratory" (p. 15).
