About this work

Description

Annotated copy of Folie d'Empereur. Par le docteur Cabanès. Guillaume II jugé par la science: une dynastie de dégénérés. Paris: A. Michel. [1915]'. Exemplaire annoté par le Docteur Witkowski, 18 mars 1916. Paris.

These are the most copious holograph annotations, corrections, and additions by Witkowski, who repeatedly calls attention to manifold inaccuracies and plagiarisms.

The 34 ll. (17 ll. + 17 ff.), written on versos or rectos only are in sheets of smaller format--16 x 10 cm. They have a title in pencil on the first leaf "Rencontres singulières, ou la manière de "faire" un livre". This consists of parallel passages from Cabanès' book, and extracts from "Barbares et bandits" 1872, by Paul de Saint Victor (i.e. Paul Jacques Raimond Bins de) [1827-1881]).
