Piperonyl butoxide plant

Correspondence concerning the installation of a new plant at Kelvindale for the production of piperonyl butoxide.

A small piperonyl butoxide plant was installed in Berkhamsted Works in 1951. "The time has come when it is necessary to provide additional capacity on account of the increasing demands which could be very sharply supplemented if the demand for Coopercote, a protective covering for packaging materials now being introduced, is very substantial ... The new plant should be installed at Kelvindale so that the Berkhamsted Works can be devoted entirely to the production of pressure packs...." (C M Carr, 21 November, 1960).
