About this work

Description

A series of cassettes which form part of an acquisition of Alice Stewart's papers. Please see Archives & Manuscripts catalogue under PP/AMS. Boxes 1 and 2 relate to the Fawler cottage accession in September and October 2002 (a gift from Stewart's daughter Dr Anne Marshall). Most cassettes feature Dr Alice Stewart in conversation about her life and her experiences as an epidemiologist and campaigner. The recordings mostly take place in the US. These are ambient recordings and the sound quality varies from cassette to cassette. There are handwritten annotations on the cassettes, some of which are illegible. The dates, where given, are transcribed using the American convention of month/day/year and are reproduced as seen.
