1 volume 136 ll. folio. 37 × 24 cm. 19th cent. half-calf binding. Written on the blank leaves of a rent-book of the estates of the Right Honble. the Lord Dudley and Ward (i.e. Edward, 13th Earl of Dudley, and 4th Baron Ward [1704-1731]), for 1730-31.

Purchased 1931.

Biographical note

The compiler of these accounts, which contain interesting and detailed particulars of a young man's daily expenses in London at the period, graduated M.D. from Queen's College, Cambridge in 1766, and was elected F.R.C.P. in 1761. He was later physician to St. George's Hospital in 1770, and to St. Bartholomew's in 1776.
