The film covers aspects of the medical care of children at the Association's Child Welfare Centre at Copperas Hill, Liverpool, and the Baby Hospital and Crippled Children's Section at Leasowe Hospital, Wallasey - "happy children who, thanks to the generosity of the patrons, are completely recovering their health". It offers a strong endorsement of the therapeutic efficacy of hospital treatment for sick children, of interest to social historians of medicine and philanthropy.

The Invalid Children's Association was founded in 1908, changing its name to the Liverpool Child Welfare Association in 1919. The Leasowe Sanatorium for Crippled Children and Hospital for Tuberculosis opened in 1914, it was later known as the Liverpool Open-Air Hospital, Leasowe, and then Leasowe Hospital.
